Keys to remember for the flop shot

The flop shot is a difficult shot to pull off. Where you can, opt for higher percentage shots like a simple pitch, a chip, or a bump & run. Save the flop shot for when you have very little green to work with or you need to stop the ball in a hurry.

Here are some keys to remember when you do decide to go with the flop shot:

  • Keep the ball foward in your stance
  • Open the club face
  • Use plenty of wrist hinge to increase your angle of attack
  • Don’t flip your wrists at the ball
